7 Days of Lapland Winter

The North of Finland is a land of fairytale winter — abundant snow, a starry sky and dancing
northern lights.

Unforgettable views, fantastically snow-covered trees, ice-free rapids, icefalls, the cleanest air and water in the world, and the nature that in other parts of Europe is unfortunately, only a memory — and all experienced in a slow rhythm - no rush, no pressure and no tight schedule.

We will absorb Nature with all our senses — hiking, admiring its beauty, tasting, and listening. We will immerse ourselves in the moment "here and now", allowing us to feel its healing and soothing power.

We will visit the most beautiful natural treasures of Lapland and Northern Ostrobothnia:

  • Riisitunturi National Park - breathtaking views of the endless taiga and the incredibly clear, ice-covered Kitkajärvi Lake, as well as the peaks of Ruka ski resort and magnificently snow-covered trees with fanciful shapes, known in Finnish as "tykky"

  • Oulanka National Park - ice-free rapids of the Kitkajoki River, suspension bridges, stunning scenery, and the only diving songbird in the water - white-throated dipper or "koskikara" in Finnish. We will hike a part of one of the most famous hiking trails in the world - Karhunkierros

  • Korouoma Canyon - spectacular icefalls, the most prized ice-climbing destination in Finland, 130‑metre walls made of rocks hundreds of millions years old and majestic views

All the places we visit are ideal outdoor locations for nature photography and birdwatching enthusiasts.
