Slow Tourism Lapland is a family initiative created by Daria and Krzysztof Nowakowski – travelers, polar explorers, and passionate admirers of northern nature. Deeply in love with Lapland for many years, they now live here permanently, sharing their knowledge and love for this extraordinary place. Occasionally, their son Kacper – an experienced snowmobile guide – also joins them in leading trips.
Our journey with Lapland began over 15 years ago, thanks to dog sledding, which led us to the remotest corners of Northern Europe. We have organized eleven polar expeditions and traveled across the northern snowfields countless times – by sled, on foot, and on skis. We have camped under the northern lights, discovering the raw beauty and stillness of the Arctic wilderness.
We are also authors and publishers of travel and children literature.
We invite you to discover Lapland in a slow style – without rush or pressure, but with time for awe, reflection, and a return to what truly matters: authentic experiences, peace, and real rest. We offer small-group tours that allow you to fully immerse yourself in the silence, vastness, and wildness of the far North.
We operate responsibly, in the spirit of sustainable tourism:
we take only small groups into nature (maximum 8 people)
we leave no trace – we take our waste with us and avoid single-use plastics
we conserve resources – water, electricity, and heating
we work with local businesses and support the local community
we educate guests about life in the Arctic and responsible travel
We would be happy to organize a unique stay for you in the heart of Lapland.
We invite you into a world where nature sets the rhythm.
