Our place is located close to six national parks. Riisitunturi, Oulanka, Salla, Pyha Luosto, Syotte and Hossa. There are many wonderful places and wonderful hiking trails in these parks, such as the world-famous Karhunkierros, the Bear Trail. The famous Korouoma Canyon is also nearby. We are very close to excellent ski resorts. The most famous is the one in Ruka. A real Mekka for all skiers.

Slow Tourism Lapland

Slow Tourism in Finnish Lapland. Nature, beautiful landscapes, silence, peace, harmony, contemplation.

Thanks to this website, we want to reach people who are sensitive to the beauty of nature and aware of its unique value. We want them to be able to look at Lapland, one of the last places in the world where contact with nature can still be complete and untainted. We invite everyone aware of the need to protect nature, climate and the only place where we can live. We invite those who are sensitive to the beauty of the world around us and all those who respect and even worship this world, people, animals and plants.

Slow tourism is responsibility for the environment in which we live. It is respect for nature and culture. It's about reducing harmful emissions and taking advantage of what the region has to offer. Sustainable tourism must take into account its current and future impacts. He must mitigate them as much as possible. The ideal is to cultivate it in such a way that no one and nothing suffers as a result of its existence. That is why we take only small groups of conscious tourists who know how precious our environment is. Precious and delicate at the same time.In 2020, the municipality of Posio became the first municipality in Finland that can boast of sustainable tourism development. At the same time, it was included in the list of the top 100 global destinations striving for sustainable development. This obliges. Our business will strictly adhere to these principles. It will be quiet and peaceful. There will be contemplation and listening to yourself and nature. It will be beautiful and wonderful.

Slow tourism gives us a chance to perceive Nature in a completely different way. We're in no hurry, that's obvious. We don't rush from one attraction to another. We avoid everything that interferes with our enjoyment of nature. We wander through a snowy forest, and the only sound that accompanies us is the sound of wind, snow and our breaths. We have time to organize our thoughts. Then we stop and absorb the power of nature with all our senses. We draw from it and tune in to it. We come back from such a trip more beautiful inside, richer and happier. Nature is an exceptionally luxurious good, so let's immerse ourselves in this luxury. For your own pleasure and for your own good.

Nature

Lapland nature is powerful, beautiful, harsh in winter and rich in summer. Winter is absolute. Always full of snow, ice and frost. Only a few animals can survive in it. Among them, the absolute masters of dealing with difficult conditions are reindeers. In addition to them, we meet here bears, lynxes, wolverines, and sometimes wolves. There are a lot of elk, hares, squirrels, weasels, rodents.Eagles, ravens, owls, grouse and grouse live here.In summer, however, thousands of birds arrive, tempted by the richness of the Lappish nature. In summer, life explodes with a wealth of flowers and fruits. Lapland is then green and singing with bird trills.

Ahokumpu

Ahokumpu is our place on earth. Here we found the peace and quiet we always wanted. That's why we go on our trips. Also for some of you, Ahokumpu will be the starting point of a great adventure. From there we will go on ski trips, both long and short ones. We live in the forest, in a remote area, and our neighbors are reindeer, moose, lynxes, squirrel hares, wolverines and many, many birds and smaller animals. Ahokumpu is a real paradise for wanderers like us.
